Important info on this save file: Dragon Quest 8 (PS2) Recruitable.txt

This specific save file will look a little odd when you open it in the editor, so here's instructions on how to use it...

This save file lets you edit recruitable monster stats (AKA Infamous Monsters) in Dragon Quest 8 for PS2. The size of the monster stat table was too large to fit everything into the editor at once, so I've divided each monster into 2 sections.

You'll notice that each monster is listed twice and is labeled numbers 1 and 2. When you click on number 1, the editor will display the first 20 stats for that monster. When you click on number 2, the editor will display the next 20 stats for that monster. If you look at the notes for each stat, you'll see something like "HP/2 Atk". This means that when you click on number 1, it will show you the HP for that monster and when you click on number 2, it will show you the Atk for that monster. Question marks mean I don't know what that stat is for, so you'll need to experiment to find out what it's for.

Here's info on what the stats are for:

Monster ID#: This number tells you which monster it is. You can use this number to add more names to the list if you'd like (I only entered a handful of names). To find out which monster it is, convert the Monster ID# number to hex. Go to this page and find the monster that matches your hex number: https://codetwink.com/view-cheats-4756-title-monster+digits-page-21.html

Bonus turn: This number determines the "Bonus turn contribution". You can find these values here: https://dragon-quest.org/wiki/Monster_recruitment#Dragon_Quest_VIII:_Journey_of_the_Cursed_King

Coin: This value determine which coin the monster has. Although I haven't tested it, you may be able to change this to any item you want. Convert your number to hex and look it up on this list: https://codetwink.com/view-cheats-4756-title-item+digits-page-14.html

Mod values: Each stat has a "mod" value that determines how much that stat will increase (growth rate). If you set this value to zero, that stat will not increase over time. You can read more about that here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/583527-dragon-quest-viii-journey-of-the-cursed-king/faqs/44904

HP, MP, Atk, Def, and Agl stats: These values are listed twice for each enemy, so you'll need to do some testing to find out why.

Growth level 1 and 2: Growth level 1 = Their starting starting growth level. Their final/max growth level = Growth level 1 + Growth level 2.
